Fun Filled August

30-34 Weeks Old

August was a month of traveling for us. First we drove to Seattle to visit my uncle Bruce and aunt Cheryl and their family. Their son Mark and his wife April flew in from Reno for a baby shower for April and we decided to join the festivities. We had a great time, and so did Madi :) She got to play with my cousins' girls Rilynn (who is 2 months older than Madi) and Adelaide (who is 2 months younger than Madi).

Our next trip was a weekend at Seaside. Once again Madi played with the babies while the adults relaxed on the beach. It was a perfect weekend, it was warm and not a bit windy. Madi wore her swimsuit and even stuck her toes in the ocean.

Our last trip this month was to Utah where we attended a wedding and spent some time with my family. One of Cody's mission companions and friend was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. We were glad to be able to attend the sealing, it's been a while since we have been to one there. My mom and brother watched Madi while we went to the brunch and sealing and they had quite the fun time. Madi was a Channel 2 news anchor for the day and then got her picture taken in front of the temple. Cody was only able to stay for the weekend,  Madi and I were able to stay an extra week and had a great time visiting with family.

This was also a busy month for Madi. She got her first crib (she has been sleeping in a pack-n-play), she got her first high chair, she is starting to wave, and she is army crawling now. She loves scooting around on her stomach and uses her right foot to push off and propel herself forward. She loves veggies, especially sweet potatoes, but she won't touch any fruit. Silly baby :)

July- We made it to Oregon!

 26-29 Weeks Old

Our road trip is finally over, we made it to Salem, Oregon!

We celebrated the 4th of July by eating elephant ears (huge pieces of fry bread coated in butter and cinnamon sugar) and watching fireworks from our back porch. Madi also had her first solid food- rice cereal and she loved it! A week later she also tried peas (which gave her a rash), and carrots which she loved.

Madi has started rolling around again, it took her a while to remember how to roll since she hasn't had any time on the floor lately because everyone wanted to hold her :)

We spent two weekends discovering different beaches along the Oregon coast. We explored Lincoln City, Newport, Depot Bay, Tillamook, and Garibaldi. We are also on the hunt for the best clam chowder, so far a small restaurant outside Garibaldi is the winner, but it's still anyone's game. Madi loved the beach, especially the sand. She likes to run it through her fingers and then stick it in her mouth :)

Madi's second tooth came in this month and we are sure glad that it is here- there have been many sleepless nights. I can't believe how fast she is growing!

We also decided to move again at the end of this month. We just haven't lived out of suitcases long enough :) The apartment we moved into wasn't a good fit for our family, so we did some searching and decided that an apartment in Keizer would be better for us. We are glad that we made the move and hopefully won't be uprooting anytime soon!

We made it to Oregon- Mt. Hood is in sight!

Madi's got her snack for the road :)

June with the Mangums and Lambs

22-23 Weeks Old
These weeks were spent in Powell, Wyoming visiting Cody's family. All of Cody's siblings and their families, Cody's parents, and Cody's grandma were able to attend the family reunion and we were so excited to introduce Madi to everyone. She was able to meet her eight cousins and they were so good with her :)

Some of the festivities included: a trip up the mountain where we stayed in a cabin, went on hikes, and rode on a tire horse; a visit to a waterfall, a trip to the temple, playing with dogs, a waterslide, golf, shopping, camping, fishing and how to suture a wound.

Madi is now able to sit up on her own!

After two weeks of fun we were on the road again, this time our destination was Sandy, Utah. My family was excited to see Madi again, and I guess they were excited to see us too :) She is the star of the show now :)
Our Utah festivities included: Wheeler Farm, Tracy Aviary, a Baby Shower for my friend Megan, Thanksgiving Point, feeding ducks at Liberty Park, Science Museum, Park City Zip Line, and swimming.

Madi also got her first tooth this week!
