44-47 Weeks Old

Madi continues to become more and more mobile. She now walks along the couch and uses the walls to support herself as she walks from room to room. She is opening cupboards, sticking her hands into the toilet and pulling the toilet paper off the roll and out into the hall (my back was only turned for a minute!).

My mom came to visit and we had a fun but quick weekend together. We ventured to the coast where we tried our hand at crabbing (we weren't able to keep any, they were too small), stopped by Tillamook for cheese and ice cream, and swung by Pacific Seafood Company for the best clam chowder we have found in Oregon. We also played at the park, got brunch at Word of Mouth, and chased Madi around the house.

Madi constantly jabbers and now says "Hey" and "Yeth" ("Yes"). It is funny when we ask her questions and she responds "Yeth", she is turning into a little girl! Not a baby anymore :(

We were able to fly to Wyoming for Thanksgiving to spend the holiday with Cody's parents. Madi was thoroughly entertained by the dogs and enjoyed being dressed up like a cowgirl. Cody celebrated his birthday while we were there and he was able to go duck hunting. He has been talking about going for years now, so he made the most of it and went several mornings. 

Madi and I went hunting with Cody at dusk one day and Madi fell asleep when we got to the blind. I told Cody to go ahead and shoot if he saw a duck since we were there to hunt. Cody saw ducks and shot 3 times while we were out there and Madi slept the entire time!

While we were in Wyoming, Cody's parents watched Madi while Cody and I went on a date. They had a huge box of chocolates that was sitting on a table where Madi could reach them. Being her mother's daughter, Madi loves chocolate and was able to find a way to sneak her hand into the box, grab a chocolate, and stuff it in her mouth all before Pa and Nana saw her. A girl after my own heart :) Little does she know, she already has it :)

39-43 Weeks Old

I am proud to announce that Madi's first word was Mama! Followed closely by Dada! Madi has been very busy this month. 

She has 2 new teeth (#5 and #6, both on the top). 

She started the month by army crawling, then moved to crawling with one knee and one foot, and now crawls on both knees. She continues to pull herself up onto the furniture and does the 'stink bug' (a pike with her bottom in the air).

Madi loves to feed herself and gets very messy in the process! Her new favorite food to eat by herself is rolls, most of which end up on the floor. She can also drink out of a bottle by herself. She is becoming very independent!

We made a couple of trips to the coast this month, Cody has work seminars in Lincoln City and Madi and I tag along. We went to a kite festival on the beach and explored a tide pool in Yaquina Bay.

We are excited for all of the fun holidays that are coming up and excited that Madi gets to celebrate. Jay and Brit and their family invited us to go to a pumpkin patch to kick off Halloween. Madi rode a tractor, picked out pumpkins, and got to pet some farm animals. Madi dressed up as a leopard for Halloween. She wasn't very happy to put the costume on, but by the end of the night she didn't mind it. 

I have been looking for a royal purple shower curtain since we moved to Oregon, but have had no luck. Instead of buying one I didn't like, I decided to make one. It was quite the project and took longer than I anticipated, but I am pleased with the final result. I told Cody that it will be a family heirloom since I worked so hard on it :)

10 Months Old!

September

35-38 Weeks Old

September was filled with lots of 'new' experiences for our family

-We bought a new car

-Madi got some new teeth- #3 and #4 (both on the top)

-Madi finished her first bottle of shampoo and we got a new one- Madi has quite the head of hair :)

-Madi ate a new food- pears! This is quite the accomplishment because Madi doesn't like fruit

-Madi also learned some new tricks this month. She can push herself up to a sitting position from her belly and she has started pulling herself up onto furniture

-We have new friends to play with! Cody's brother, Jay, and his family moved to Oregon this month. They have 3 kids that Madi is excited to play with :)

-Madi discovered the way that doors swing open and closed and loves to move the door to her room and also the doors on our tv stand
